A New Chapter for Space Rockets in the Arab Region
We are thrilled to announce that ART Co-founder; Mrwan Mohey has been honored with the Young Arab Pioneers 2025 award in the Space & Technology sector, under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed and the Arab Youth Center. This recognition reflects our continuous mission to expand access to space in our region and to uplift the next generation of innovators, engineers, and space enthusiasts.

About the Young Arab Pioneers Initiative
According to Gulf News, this year’s Young Arab Pioneers program brings together 40 changemakers from 13 Arab countries, encompassing 10 different fields including space and technology. The initiative, now in its fourth edition, offers participants workshops, mentorship, investor networking, and hands-on training, helping bold ideas become real solutions.
Why This Matters for ART
For us at ART, the award is both an honor and a marker of progress. We believe that making space more accessible across the Arab world isn’t just a technical challenge — it’s about education, partnerships, and building sustainable ecosystems. Our efforts so far have included:
- The ART Academy: training and educating students and young professionals in space science and engineering.
- Signing launch contracts and collaborating on payload development to give real flight opportunities.
- Partnerships with local educational institutions, and industry partners that support our vision of regional capability and independence in space launch.

The Promise of the Region’s Space & Launch Industry
The Young Arab Pioneers initiative is just one of many signals that the Arab world is doubling down on innovation and technological sovereignty. Media coverage (AlNahar, AlEtihad, Gulf Today) has emphasized not only recognition but also the platform this initiative gives to young innovators to present and scale projects across sectors.
As we look ahead:
- We anticipate more student and academia labs participating in real launches.
- Stronger regional regulatory frameworks and investment channels that support space startups.
- More collaboration among governments, private companies, and educational bodies to build infrastructure and capability in MENA region.
Gratitude & What Comes Next
As we move forward, ART remains committed to using this momentum to scale our projects, build more launch capability, and offer meaningful opportunities to youth in the region. We believe that this is only the beginning.
