Description

Course Overview:

Our Rocketry intro course is part of ART Academy and presented on SpacePoint LMS. The course objective is to define two concepts. The first concept: Rocket Fundamentals: Gain a comprehensive understanding of the basics of rockets, including their components and systems, laying the groundwork for advanced exploration in rocket science. The second concept: Design and Development: Learn to apply theoretical knowledge to practical design projects, culminating in the creation of a model rocket using OpenRocket software, honing your skills in propulsion, and mechanical engineering design.

Course Objective:

• Master the fundamental principles of rocketry, providing a solid base for future career advancement in the aerospace industry.

• Gain hands-on experience in designing and building model rockets, enhancing practical skills essential for real-world engineering projects using openrocket software.

• Develop expertise in propulsion systems, rocket control, and mechanical engineering design, positioning oneself as a specialist in the field of rocket engineering.

• Equip yourself with the necessary skills and knowledge to pursue opportunities in rocket engineering, setting a strong foundation for a successful career in the aerospace sector.

Course Content:

Lecture 1: Dive into the basics of space rockets and its systems.
Lecture 2: Learn about the different categories of the propulsion systems & the physics behind rocket engines.
Lecture 3: Explore the brain and the nerves of space rockets and how do they navigate their way in the dark cold space through GNC.
Lecture 4: Delve into the mechanical engineering techniques for rockets – tanks, body, engine, materials and tests – part 1.
Lecture 5: Delve into the mechanical engineering techniques for rockets – tanks, body, engine, materials and tests – part 2.
Lecture 6: Engage in hands-on projects using OpenRocket to design a model rocket with all its sub-systems.
